Multiple Power Production Applications
AI Energy Technologies is on a mission to enable utility companies to minimize energy production costs and related emissions.
Our patented technology has already been deployed in coal units and our first Combined Cycle application is under development.
It can also be deployed in other types of energy production with a combustion process.
Navigator’s AI Architecture
AI Energy Technologies uses state of the art deep learning algorithms. All of Navigator’s AI algorithms are trained in cooperation with experienced power engineers. AI models are powered by thermodynamics, power machines and device operation specifics.
These models are not only used in the Navigator combustion optimizer, but also in other modules such as data validation, anomaly and failure detection, predictive maintenance, fuel module and many other simulations.
This enables plant operators to be informed of real time decisions they can make to minimize production costs and optimize efficiency.
Navigator's Innovative Problem Solving:
Has been proven to generate savings between 1% and 3% and reduction of related environmental emissions.
Substantially Reduce Losses
Navigator enables the real time reduction of heat rate loss. Such losses are displayed as the colored lines at the bottom of the screen. The blue line indicates the sum of all deviations. The operator’s objective is to keep this line as low as possible to minimize heat rate deviation, thus reducing the cost of power generation.
The operator can easily identify the sub process generating the highest losses and take corrective actions. Importantly, the operator can immediately confirm the result of that action which will be displayed by a downward movement of each line.
Real Time Optimizing Recommendations
The operator receives recommendations from Navigator in the form of simple commands. Those recommendations contain precise information about which parameters should be changed to improve efficiency.
Real Time Impact
The operator receives recommendations from Navigator in the form of simple commands. Those recommendations contain precise information about which parameters should be changed to improve efficiency. The operator can immediately identify and change the settings to optimize the combustion process. The results of operator’s corrective actions are displayed on the graph in real time.
Heat Rate Awareness Improvement
This is a comparison of losses over two cycles of power unit operation: one cycle during which the technology has been implemented (red area) and the other without (blue area). After system implementation, heat rate deviation distribution was corrected, resulting in higher unit efficiency.
The heat rate reduction potential has been proven to be 1% to 3%. This reduction is significant as power plants burn thousands of tons of coal PER HOUR. Saving even one half of one percent results in a significant reduction of coal consumption and CO2/other toxic emissions.
Malfunction Alerts
Data reliability and process safety is crucial to efficient plant operation. Navigator alerts the operator in real time about sensor malfunctions.
The reaction time by the operator is very important, because invalid sensor data can lead to the mistuning of automation systems and generate losses. With these alerts, the operator can be made aware of potentially system compromising malfunctions such as leakages.
This AI based tool ensures that the operator bases corrective actions on validated data.
